COVID-19 Notice

Update to our Valued Clients:

In light of the recent announcement to re-open BCs economy we wanted to inform our clients of what this means for your pet’s care.

Until now, provincially all vet clinics have been legislated to only provide pet care on an urgent basis. We are preparing to broaden our services and begin offering routine care. To carefully and equitably roll this out we want to assure our existing clients that are on the waitlist and/or had a scheduled appointment that was cancelled that you will be contacted first.

In respect to our veterinarians offering routine care, please understand that it is still NOT business as usual. In order to maintain physical distancing inside the clinic we can not be fully staffed. This will translate into longer wait times, extended periods on hold and longer appointment times. We understand that this may be inconvenient for some but please remember that the protocols that are in place are there for the safety of the community, MVC team members and the pet owner.

What to Expect:

  • Appointments can be scheduled by calling 250-963-9898 and speaking with the receptionist
  • When you arrive at the clinic you will need to call 250-963-9898 to check in. Please provide the make, model and color of your vehicle to the receptionist so your veterinarian can locate you easily in the parking lot
  • We have increased our already high standard of cleaning.
  • We encourage payments to be contactless (over the phone with a credit card or via e-transfer). If you need to use the debit terminal, rest assured it is sanitized between EVERY transaction. We are still accepting cash.
  • You will not be permitted in the clinic. Depending on the nature of your visit, the veterinarian may treat your pet outside, or bring your pet into the clinic and back to you once services are completed. The only exception to this is for in clinic euthanasia.
  • You will be asked about your health status; if you have symptoms of COVID – 19 or have been exposed to someone with symptoms you will be asked to have someone else bring your pet to your appointment.

Equine Appointments

  • We are actively servicing our family of equine patients, this includes in clinic visits and farm calls
  • To maintain social distancing, only 1 handler will be permitted with the vet and technician team
  • We prefer to see all equine patients in clinic, however if this is not an option and you require a farm call, you will be asked questions to determine if protocols (physical distancing etc) can be observed on site
  • You will be asked about your health status; if you have symptoms of COVID – 19 or have been exposed to someone with symptoms you will be asked to have someone else bring your horse to your appointment.

Please be respectful of our staff as we all try to do our best to stay safe and healthy while providing quality care for your pets/horses.
